Refractory and Ceramic Materials Department

Refractory and ceramic materials are the type of materials that involved in all aspects of our life. Basically, refractories are materials that can withstand to high temperature, pressure and chemical attack. Hence, they are involved in various applications such as dishes, dental supplies, building materials, electrical application, energy applications. In this regard, constant development and fabrication of refractories are a vital procedure to improve the industrial sector and keep discovering new materials for energy and electrical applications. From this point, refractory and ceramic materials have been a department in various scientific institutes in order to monitor the development of these vital materials.
Refractory and ceramic materials department (RCMD) is established to monitor the constant development of industrial applications. The department is generally dealing with the manufacture of new ceramic materials in various sectors such as industrial, water treatment, medical and solar energy sectors. During the last decade, our department has achieved an outstanding progress in the manufacture of cement and concrete pastes that have been exported to several industrial factories. On the side of energy, we have produced solar receivers for solar energy plant that can withstand to high temperature and achieve the highest overall energy. This is besides to the production of photocatalytic materials that has been successfully implanted in the purification of waste water. Since the development of any country is measured by its progress in energy and industrial applications, our journey has been and will be full of achievements in these fields which as we hope will serve the community.
