Nowadays, to realize faster and smaller devices, we need to design and tailor a materials on a nanoscale regime. To control the size and shape of the nanostructured materials, many process, routes and methods have been employed based on the material of interest and applications. Nanotechnology is the bridge between the nanoscience and the industrial applications. It is employed in increasing applications in today's industry and is being considered as the next scientific revolution. Indeed, nanotechnology is helping to considerably improve, even revolutionize, many technology and industry sectors such as energy, food safety, environmental science, medicine, transportation, information technology, security, electronics, chemical manufacturing, aerospace, defense and healthcare among many others. Nanostructured Materials and Nanotechnology Department (NND) carries out basic and applied research on the synthesis, characterization, processing and evaluation of nanostructured materials for realistic advanced technological applications. The enhanced and/or new materials' properties on the nanoscale regime can effectively lead to stronger, lighter, more durable, more reactive, better electrical conductivity, better optical and mechanical properties among many other characteristics.
